The losses suffered by the Prussian palaces during World War II | Paintings, vol. 1

With this volume the Foundation for Prussian Palaces and Gardens in Berlin & Brandenburg presents the first part of its documentation of losses. It includes nearly one half of the paintings to be found in the Prussian palaces before 1945, highlighting the immense scale of the losses incurred. Over 3,000 easel paintings, the wall and ceiling paintings, as well as paintings integrated into the walls are documented with short descriptions of the works – and if known – their  whereabouts.

The catalogue of losses was published in 2004.
