Paretz Palace – Vestibule
The village and palace of Paretz were built by David Gilly from 1797–1804, and were conceived as a summer residence for Crown Prince Frederick William and his wife Luise. Paretz is one of the most significant examples of country architecture in Prussia around 1800. Since July 21, 2002, when new areas in the palace were opened to the public, the royal apartment – with its furnishings, prints and drawings, and famous Paretz wallpaper – can now also be viewed together with the other rooms on the ground floor. The palace’s vestibule adds a special magic to wedding ceremonies held in Paretz.
