Jagdschloss Grunewald – Schlosshof

Grunewald Hunting Lodge – Palace Courtyard

Grunewald Hunting Lodge is the oldest palace in Berlin. Idyllically located on the banks of the lake with the same name, it was built in 1542 in the Renaissance style during the reign of Elector Joachim II, who was a contemporary of Martin Luther and Lucas Cranach. At the beginning of the 18th century King Frederick I converted the palace into a Baroque form. During its 460-plus years of history, it provided the setting for life at court and exuberant hunting parties, but was also a refuge for regents and their mistresses. The Palace Courtyard is completely enclosed by historic buildings and two large gates with gatehouses. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the palace, the old Hunting Depot, and Lake Grunewald.

This self-contained palace and courtyard in the middle of the woods is the perfect location for secluded events.
