Gold verzierter Festsaal mit Kamin, Gemälden, Deckenmalerei, im Schloss Caputh

Caputh House – Ballroom

The high, vaulted, vividly decorated ceiling with rich, three-dimensional stuccowork determines the overall impression of this interior. Its style indicates that the room was completed at an early date, while the palace was being converted for Electress Dorothea after 1671. The motif on the ceiling, originally painted on canvas and attributed to the court painter Jacques Vaillant or those close to him, allegorically depicts the goddess Minerva as protectress of the arts and sciences. The oval portraits on the walls are of Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg and Dorothea, his second wife, and four of their children. The stylish, historical ambience of this palace provides the perfect setting to make your event particularly special.
