Picture Gallery of Sanssouci
To the info page of the venue
The Picture Gallery of Sanssouci is one of the oldest surviving royal museum buildings in Germany. The harmonious accord of interior design and individual works of art distinguishes what is a rather inconspicuous building on the exterior.
Floors made of yellow and white marble with colored stone inlays, ancient and Baroque sculptures, as well as gilded ornamentation and stuccowork allegories of the arts and sciences high above the heads of the visitors interact with the densely hung paintings.
Today, in addition to paintings from Frederick’s original collection, works from other Prussian palaces are also on display. Among the highlights are Caravaggio’s “Doubting Thomas,” Anthony van Dyck’s “The Descent of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost)” and works by Peter Paul Rubens.

We offer a fixed group price that depends on a maximum number of participants. This price includes entry to the respective palace for the group as well as, depending on availability, a personal guided tour, an audio guide tour, or the use of an app via a personal technical device (e.g., smartphone).
If the number of participants exceeds the maximum limit for the program, the group will be divided. Each subgroup will be allocated a specific entry time, and the group price will be calculated accordingly per subgroup. For some palaces, an additional fee is offered for the second entry time slot, up to a certain number of persons. This fee cannot be booked separately.
There is no minimum number of participants for a group booking. Programs can be offered in various languages, including personal tours in German and English, as well as the use of audio guides and tours in the SANSSOUCI app with additional language versions. Further information about the tours and language versions can be found in the current group price list.
If groups are accompanied by a licensed tour guide from the SPSG, a 10% discount is granted on the group package price. This discount does not apply to group bookings with an audio guide. Special openings for groups are possible upon request outside the regular opening hours of the palaces. The price for a special opening consists of the group price, a special opening fee, and, if applicable, additional personnel costs.
All information is subject to availability and changes. Group prices are only valid in conjunction with the General Terms and Conditions for Groups of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg. All prices mentioned are exempt from VAT according to § 4 No. 20a UStG.
Important notice for school and youth groups
