The Church of Peace is one most significant creations of architecture and landscape design to have been influenced by German Romanticism. Based on designs by Frederick William IV, the church was built according to plans by Ludwig Persius and August Stüler.
However, the ensemble at the core of the World Cultural Heritage Site is under threat. Moisture is seeping through the façade and roofs into the building interior, where it is damaging the yellow marble, the church furnishings and the unique Venetian apse mosaic from the first half of the 13th century. A complete renovation is unavoidable. Your donation can help preserve this exceptional church in Sanssouci Park.
